Q: How do I select a location?
A: Just enter a US Zip Code, Canadian Postal Code or GPS coordinate and choose from a list of sites within 60 miles.
Q: Does it connect to the internet?
A: No. All tide data is pre-loaded on the device.
Q: How many years of tide data is stored?
A: The device has data through the end of 2035.
Q: Does it display tide heights in both feet and meters?
A: Yes, that can be set by the user.
Q: What do the percentages on the tide screen mean?
A: The percentages are related to the highest and lowest tides of "all-time" - which in this case are over the 20 years of tide data loaded on to the device. 0% means the water is at the lowest all-time level. 100% means it is at the highest all-time level. Pecentages in between indicate the relative height between the two. For example, 50% is in the middle between the lowest and highest levels all-time.
Q: What do the different colors on the screen represent?
White numbers - current tide level and related info.
Red numbers - high tide level and related info.
Blue numbers - low tide level and related info.
Yellow numbers - sunrise & sunset.
Q: Can I use the USB port on my phone charger, computer, laptop, car, boat or portable power bank to run the clock?
A: Yes, absolutely.
Q: Can I use a portable USB power bank to power it?
A: Yes. The clock is so low power (170ma) that a lightweight, inexpensive power bank can run it for many hours.
This inexpensive, portable power bank can run the clock for up to 18 hours.
This heavier duty, portable power bank can run the clock for up to 2 days.
Q: What type of USB cable is used?
A: USB-A to USB-B cable. Here's an example. Note: Two cables of different lengths are provided - the longer is 10ft.
Q: Can you tell me more about the battery?
Sure, the battery is used exclusively for keeping time when the clock is unplugged - even up to six months. When the clock is powered back up, the battery is recharged within a couple hours. The battery is not replaceable and is expected to last the lifetime of the tide clock.
Q: Can I mount it on my wall?
A: Absolutely. We even include an assortment of nails. There's a nail "keyhole" on the back side of the device.
Q: What are the 1 year warranty details?
A: One Year Warranty: WeND, LLC warrants this product against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of one year from the date of retail purchase by the original end-user purchaser (“Warranty Period”). If a defect arises and a valid claim is received within the Warranty Period, WeND will either (1) repair the hardware defect at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts, or (2) exchange the product with a product that is new or which has been manufactured from new or serviceable used parts and is functionally equivalent to the original product.
Q: What if I need to return the device during the warranty period?
A: If you purchased the device through Amazon and want to return within the first 30 days, then please return directly to Amazon through your Amazon product orders page in your account. If it is after 30 days and less one year since your purchase, then we will we happy to warranty your device as described above. Please contact us to start the return process. You will need your Amazon order number or other proof of purchase.
